ca N.Y., studying with Karel Husa. Then later, I taught several years at Washington State Univ. in Pullman, composition and music theory. Since 1988 I am the composer for James Madison Univ. School of Music in Virginia. Additionally, I've lived many years in Japan, speak Japanese, have two half-Japanese daughters age 11 and 8. My wife is a Japanese abstract painter named Mineko Yoshida. I also spent one year on Fulbright (Institute of International Education) in Hong Kong, composing and teaching. Write me a note if you like via the James Madison Univ. School of Music site. Best wishes to all my friends from Hot Springs high school, OBU, VCU, Interlochen, Cornell, WSU and JMU.
